Simplicity

Dirt in the garden
A white piece of paper
Fresh popped popcorn
A hot cup of coffee for a tired body
Resting in a rocking chair on a front porch
A beautiful cello solo
One solitary bloom

Simplicity.

Yesterday while I was stuffing a Susan Fosnot pattern of a Maggie Bessie doll I was struck by the beauty of the shape of it without any additions of paint or decoration. It was so gratifying to watch the stuffing give these connected cloth shapes life.

That in itself, was a moment of simplicity. Simplicity is something that's easily hidden and covered over by the cares of this life. I have to be careful that I don't go with the "more is more" attitude that pervades our world. It's just so easy to complicate things.
