Things That Come in Padded Envelopes

My husband lovingly gave me the above little book for our anniversary. I love it - it's teeny, and the little lithographed illustrations are so beautiful! It is inscribed to Margaret Dodge, 1885 from her uncle.

I entitled this post - "Things That Come in Padded Envelopes" because both of the items pictures - antique and precious - were packed in padded envelopes and not boxed. I don't get that?!?

But isn't this guy adorable? I put the pen in the 2nd photo to give a sense of scale.
