Past Works 2006 - The Beginning

I got a new computer this week and have been uploading things to the computer. In the process I found a CD with pictures of creations made in 2006. This was the first year making dolls. I sold most of these creations I can see my work has changed a lot. I used to be a lot more varied in my work, and I want to return to that. I've learned a lot about where to place facial features in antique inspired dolls since I began. This first section are the first dolls I made that year.

Crackle medium experiment.
I like this doll, and so did my son who has autism.

A sweet lady in Denmark bought this doll.

Frenzy, the Christmas Spotted Killjoy

Pattern for doll above is by Judi Ward.
Double Dart Pattern.

My first Izannah attempt using
an Annie Beez pattern as a base.

I want to do some more experimenting.

Oh, Dixie, what a wonderful assortment of dolls and styles! Love them all, but I'm especially drawn to the golden angel with the star on her head...such personality!

Yeah, sigh. I sold that doll for something like $25 on Ebay. I wish I had it back - I made it while someone I love who was a "light-bringer" was at the end of their life. The making of that creation is filled with my thoughts of him.

I have to say, wonderful as they all are, my favorite bar none is the crackle experiment doll. She's amazing, and your son has great taste!

I was smiling the whole time I was enjoying the photos...I LOVE seeing how established artists began-since I really am at my beginning of knowing you, this is a great way to see your art! It's so funny-I had a bird in my sketch book something like Frenzy, only with wool pennies-even had the same colors in mind!
It is a pure joy for me to find you.

PS I forgot to say how much I love your art!!!
