Apple Pie Memories

My mom is an awesome cook. When I was a little girl, I was amazed at the long spirals made when she peeled apples for pie.   She used to let us have one or two sugared apple slices. Yesterday, after I peeled and sliced the apples and tossed them with spiced sugar, I called my youngest into the room to have a sugared apple slice.  It's a nice memory.

I always make a pumpkin and apple pie to take to Thanksgiving meal and I always make a pumpkin and apple pie to return home to.  But sometimes we get into it the night before Thanksgiving.  If you want a really good apple pie recipe, then you will want to try this one.  It uses boiled cider in the apple filling.  Yum!  I made a mistake and used regular cider, and it still turned out well.  Very saucy.  The boiled cider would be better.  Here's a link for making boiled cider, and the link below is for the pie.  Enjoy!
