Whirlygigs & Other Wonders :
A Visit to the Hutch Studio Blog

Light has always fascinated me, from the time I was a little girl sitting in the North Room at Granddad's House watching the dust mites fly in a ray of sunshine.   I feel the same way when I see the creation above, and the cut window coverings below.  They are magical.  I found Hutch Studio via Hen House Studio featured Hutch Studio on her blog, showing the whirlygigs they make.  I saw they have a pattern to make them and hopped on over to Hutch Studio's blog and WOW found some of the most amazing whimsical creations.  I love the whirlygigs, but the picture above shows that Hutch Studio is not only interested in movement, but in the light.

These whirlygigs and creations encourage me to step out of my creative box and try something new.    Visit Hutch Studio's blog.  It's really worth it to go through the older posts.    Here are some of their blog entries focused on light, and on cardboard.  You will be delighted and amazed.  You can buy some of their patterns here.  I bought something at a yard sale recently that is begging for a whirlygig top. I love this one of the iron below...love the colors, and love the sense of story involved.

Dixie, this is great art. I love this. If I lived a bit closer I would definitely stop by and see this place. Thanks for the links. Excellent fun and creativity. If I was rich I would buy one of everything:)

Oh I love the lit-up little paper houses! You're right, this is a treasure. I can see how it would challenge you to see things with fresh perspective--especially out those wonderful windows!
