Yes, I AM the Laundry Fairy

laundry, an invisible task

Yeah, I know.  I write a lot about getting things done.  If I just did things instead of write about them they would be done.  How's that for irony?

But I write about them because sometimes it helps to read that someone else has challenges in getting things done.   A while ago, I read "Start Your Day By Eating a Frog." I need to read it again.    And today I read this post about invisible tasks.   Which was fascinating and showed me why I'm having a hard time getting stuff done.  Because the laundry doesn't do itself (even if it gives occasional moments of beauty as shown above).    And no one has recently come knocking at my door unannounced to deliver groceries for the week.  And those sealed molars in my 12 year old?   Um, yeah, that was one of my invisible tasks that took two hours.

When setting goals it is important to be realistic about what you can really do.  I forget to add in the amount of time that invisible tasks take...that's why my other goals take way longer than I think they will.

Well, I am off to eat a frog and check off an invisible task at the same time.  ;-)
