The Ripple Effect of Small Changes

A friend came over today and looked at my living room and convinced me to roll up the rug.  I left the pad down to give me an idea of what a lighter rug might do in this room.  Amazing the difference that one change can make.  Pretty soon we were shopping other rooms in the house for tables, etc.   Here's the room with previous rug, etc.

Looks great, Dixie! I've been doing this a lot lately in our home. It's amazing how moving or removing items can change the look of a room! :> )

Me, too, Sarah. Sometimes that small change is dusting! ;-)

Yes, I like to do that, too, Peanut. And I think a little swap meet might be in order, too. I don't do yard sales any more - I don't have a good location for that.

Last September, the hubs and I decided we'd put our house up for sale. Like a good patron of the HGTV arts, I decluttered and put SO much away in boxes out in storage. We never listed the house, however, and now that we're revisiting that notion, it's time to declutter AGAIN. I wish the changes would be as easy as rolling up a rug. :~)

I liked the other rug, but the visual simplicity of the plainer one is calming.
