I Like to Learn

Learning makes life joyful.  Well, not every lesson is FUN, but for the most part, learning does bring joy. Finding a new craft, art or subject to learn about is like discovering a favorite author wrote a whole series of books you haven't read.   I don't always do anything with what I'm learning.   But I am rarely bored.

A recent interest is fabric design.   I love finding and looking at antique fabrics and the variety of prints made.   I love the whimsy of some old patterns - and it's amazing how modern some Civil War fabrics feel.  A dear lady sent me some antique fabrics last year and I have so enjoyed looking at them and thinking about who designed them, where and how they were printed, and who wore them!   I am enjoying reading The Textile Blog, seeing examples of antique fabrics and learning about copyright law in 1842.

So I ordered some books on fabric design and fabric printing.  I'm really looking forward to learning about this!

I'm with you-I love to learn too.
I have just a little experience with printing on fabric-some silk screening and simple block prints and stencils. I look forward to seeing some of your designs.
