The Main Character

I had an interesting conversation with a friend recently. One of the things she mentioned is that sometimes we need to look at our lives as if we were the main character in a novel. If we were outside of the story, so to speak, what would we say to the main character? This is a very interesting way to look at things - a good way to get some perspective.
