Happy Birthday to Edyth!

My friend Edyth O'Neill is having a birthday today.   I invite you to wish her a happy one in the comment section of her blog post on Blue and White Waverly. Edyth is an inspiration to me on so many levels - as an artist, as a mother, and as a woman.   Edyth has a long history as a writer, folk artist, hooked rug designer, doll maker and doll collector.  Her blog is worth reading!  Her books are worth owning, too, even if you are not a rug hooker.

If you enjoy antiques, antique houses, collectibles, dolls, rug hooking, and quilts then you will enjoy reading Edyth's book Rugs for My Red Cape.  It's a treat for the eye, showcasing not only her rug designs but many wonderful images of other antiques.  Her restored cape is sadly lost, but this book shows Edyth's and Jack's eyes for antiques and design.
