Whoever said that is pretty smart. How true it is. I was going through a pile on one of my surfaces and found 10+ delayed decisions! I hadn't ever thought of it that way, but it's pretty revealing. I do have a hard time making decisions at times. I think it's because I don't want to make the wrong one. I also amass stuff because i might want to do something. I do this because I'm afraid I might not have the opportunity to purchase that particular book (bowl, trinket).
I have a friend who would never post pictures of her cluttery spots in her house. She thinks it's funny that I do. I do this for a couple of reasons. First, it helps me to look at my spaces through the camera's eye. The camera doesn't edit out stuff that I must edit out on a daily basis. Secondly, I know there are people out there like me. You're not alone ;-)
I'm going to be buying some furniture to fix up my office so it's a pleasant room. I will be taking everything out of it and only bringing back in what is essential for "domestic tranquility". I borrowed that phrase from a family member.
So stay tuned. I'll post after pictures in a few weeks. In the meantime this is some good reading...

Well....Apparently I have lots of delayed decision making going on in my studio!!!! DRAT! My problem is I don't take the time to put things back...as I am working..I feel I need to have it all handy or I won't use it. I hate the cluter though. I'm going to check out your suggested reading and see what they have to say. :)
Have a wonderful day

Hi Dixie: I must have a lot of "delayed decision making" going on in my studio too!! LOL When I work, I seem to toss wools and other fabrics all over the place...but after the busy season I like to tidy it up and start messin' again!!!
I really like your dolls...what fun! : )
Happy Friday!

I think this is so true of many artists. I know that when I get going on a project, I tend to have tunnel vision to that project. I get things I need and don't put them away, because I don't want to stop what I'm doing. The result is a "creative mess"!!

Dix,
You are NOT alone! I am in your same boat. You are brave to post a pic of your studio, although it doesn't touch the clutter that I have in mine. Thanks for posting the link....I have been reading and it is energizing.
Hugs,
Tink
Boy, I can't wait to tell hubs I'm not the only one like this. :> )
I have a tough time throwing out stuff. Because I never know when I "might" need it. Sigh. I can't wait to see your finished project Dix!

Dixie...
Every nook, corner, cranny, shelf, floor, drawer, closet and floor is utterly spotless and organized. 'A place for everything and everything' are words I live by. Do you believe me?

I took everything out of my studio a year ago Oct. when I was having the hardwood floor refinished. It looked so nice when I just put back in what I wanted in there. Fast forward 15 months, it's an overstuffed room again. Good luck on your venture.
