Another Update on Antique Papier Mache Doll

This is an original antique papier mache head that I repaired and repainted. Because I make antique inspired dolls, it is important to me that I touch and feel originals. It's my hope that the brain remembers the feel and shape and curves so that when I make one of my own the old ones come through a bit. I borrowed the coloring and hair from my sister's girlhood look.

I've decided on fabric,
now I need to decide on the arrangement of the two fabrics.

The body pattern was given to me by a friend.
She shared the pattern she's used
for the past 50 years. Thanks, friend!
I really enjoyed painting her stockings and boots.

I'll be selling this little girl on my blog when she's done. If you like artist dolls and antique dolls then this girl is for you! Remember, she has been repainted by an artist, and is now a One of a Kind work. Keep checking!
