"Dreams"

I was out driving to an errand on this beautiful crisp September day when I noticed just ahead of me a woman driving the most beautiful aqua convertible. Her beautiful silver hair was flowing in the breeze. It was gorgeous, with the sun reflecting off it. The aqua color was soft and the paint finish had a kind of depth to it that was dreamy. I'm not much of a car person usually. I've never seen this kind of car before, so it was probably a special one, like a Porsche or something. And to top it all off, the license plate on this amazing car said, "Dreams."

The woman seemed to be approaching life with some panache. I starting writing a biography for her in my head - that once she had a dream and worked very hard and finally it paid off so that she could buy that dreamy aqua convertible. I decided she had invented a wonderful device that is used in restaurants all around the world. Once I told myself this story, I started to feel a teensy bit of envy as I chugged along in my Caravan watching her in the aqua convertible enjoying the fall breeze. I thought I needed to know what she looked like. So I pulled into the passing lane to get a look as I drove by her....and she had a moustache. She was not a she, but a he.

Things aren't always as they appear, are they? I laughed and laughed and laughed at how silly I had been. And of course I had to write a new story in my head about the driver.
