Dawn at the Dollmaker's House

Dawn at the Dollmaker's
Dixie Redmond, © 2009

I finally finished the washy painting inspired by what the interior of Izannah Walker's shop might have been like. If you'd like to see what it looked like before these final stages, click here. In painting, every time you add another layer, you gain some things, but you lose things as well. It's a trade-off. I lost color in this, but gained atmosphere and mood, and so I'm happy with that. I will be listing this painting on Ebay later this evening, so be sure to check the listing.

Here are some details of the painting:

Such a beautiful picture, Dixie! The mood you've created is wonderful. To me it looks like the dolls are ready and waiting for little girls to wake up and walk in and choose them and treasure them forever. :o)
