The Year of Getting Things Done

Lately I've been quoting the phrase, "I live in possibility" a lot to my husband.  Nod of the head to Emily Dickinson.  Last night my husband quipped back, "I live in probability."   Funny guy.  And there you see the contrast in our personalities!  ;-)

But in 2011, I really do want to make more dreams a reality.  This is hard, because while we're in the dream state we have an illusion of perfectionism.  The edges of the dream painting are perfect.  Executing the dream are stiff hands holding a paint brush.  It's more raw.  There are no soft edges hiding the marks of the search in the real painting.  We can keep that perfect creation in our head forever, OR we set out to make something that is almost there...I hesitate to use the words "good enough" because I don't mean create in a slapdash way.  But I do mean we have to let go of that hazy perfectionistic dream of "I Will Make a Wonderful Painting" with the blank canvas in front of us and finally make a mark that might or might not work out.

So weeeeeeee!
Here we go!
