Mini Izannahs in Progress

I'm working on a couple of mini Izannah dolls.  They will be somewhere between 8 and 10 inches tall, depending on how much clay gets added to the heads.    You use less material in making dolls smaller than 12 inches but they require more time because sculpting is actually harder (at least for me).    I've been working on getting a different shape for the body, moving a seam here and a seam there.  I enjoy that part of doll designing.

Clay is the next step.
Sculpting at this scale is challenging.
This is the first base layer - facial features are next.

What are you doing with my bowl? :~P I have some just like that. Good idea for bracing the teeny ones. Have fun with your Izzies!

I got those from my mom. I think they're Anchor Hocking one cup bowls.

Wow Dixie she is tiny and I can imagine how difficult it is to sculpt a face that small. I can hardly wait to see how she is going to look!
Have a great Sunday!

I hate that electrical outlet. The electrician was in a life crisis and installed different colored outlets on one side of the kitchen from the other. What was he thinking? But oh, well.

The bowls I stole from my mom. Er, asked for, I mean.

Hi Dixie, it's me, Robin from Robin's Egg Bleu.
For some reason, I can never comment on your page anymore unless I do it through 'anonymous'. At any rate, I do check in on all your posts, though it might not seem like it! Just too much trouble commenting so I figure I'll go with anonymous and tell you who I am! I love your little Izzy's and can't wait to see them all done. I am picturing them decorating a Christmas tree!

Hi, Robin. :-) Thanks so much for telling me who you are. I don't know why the commenting thing isn't working. But thanks for going the extra mile - you encourage me. They are wee ones and are in the oven now on the 3rd sculpting. Hard to work that small!
