What Encouragement Does

Less gray hair and wrinkles for sure! ;-)

One instance of encouragement can make a lot happen. I first drove to Lucy's Doll House in 2006 to see a lovely Izanah Walker doll they had available.  Eight years ago, Sue Singer graciously let me document that doll in photographs.  And when the shop had other Izannah Walker Dolls, she let me come and document those.

Seeing that first doll prompted me to start this blog - http://www.northdixiedesigns.com/2006/11/izannah-walker-still-has-something-to.html

In 2008, I  put the Izannah images I've been able to take on their own blog called the Izannah Walker Chronicles.

In 2010, I designed an Izannah Walker inspired pattern and did an online workshop.

Also in 2010,  I started MAIDA Today, a broader based blog focused on making antique inspired dolls.  The first post is a feature of a lovely Columbian doll I photographed and studied and measured.

The MAIDA Dolls Group was born in 2010.

See what one instance of encouragement can put in motion?

I'm sad that Lucy's Doll House brick and mortar shop is closing.

But I'm so happy that Sue Singer plans to have an online based shop  As more information comes about that, I will share.
