Here are the stages of the tomato painting I listed at The Humble Arts. The funny things about any work of art is that every stage has interesting things in it - and often those get lost. You can't be afraid (and I am sometimes) to lost the interesting brushstroke. I've painted whole paintings before trying to save one brush-stroke. And that's what they end up looking like, too. I tried very hard not to get attached to a stage along the way. But there are things I loved about the first few stages that definitely got lost in later stages. But I also think I gained something in the last few stages. It's definitely a journey with each work.
