My extended family doesn't understand me. Why am I painting tomato people when I could be doing more traditional portraits, or still lifes, or landscapes? I don't have an answer for that. I do love painting landscapes, and I hope to do more of them. But the tomato people must be painted. Actually, in the first painting, I started off making a copy of an old folk painting from the 1820's and one thing led to another. I am trying to catch the feel of a folk painting, but with a whimsical twist. The first tomato woman is for sale on Ebay. This little tomato girl will be available on The Humble Arts website tomorrow. Thanks so much for looking! ~ Dixie
