Election Day - Go Vote!

We are privileged in this country to be part of the process of choosing our leaders. In times past, when I was younger, I didn't understand the importance of this. I took it for granted. Recently, I was having lunch with a lady I know who is in her 70's. She is originally from Normandy, France, and lived through Nazi occupation during World War II. Her story of this time brought tears to my eyes and reminded me how lucky we are in the United States to have the right to vote. It was hard won for women and African Americans, and not to be taken lightly. I voted last week, because here in Maine we have early voting.

Here's a link to the Women's National History Museum, outlining the battle women engaged in to get the right to vote.
