As I've been working on a family history project recently it strikes me that perspective is everything. This photo in particular underscored that for me when I realized I was looking at the picture as a bunch of people gathered around an old car. But the real setting is a Sunday School class gathered around a NEW car because this was taken in 1915. At least that's what these people were experiencing at the time. Wouldn't one of those new-fangled automobiles make a great backdrop? My grandfather is the boy in the front with no shoes and a tie on.
The picture below looks like an old clunker to me but was part of the prized fleet of a fledgling construction company.....
It's all about perspective.
