Election Day

Ninety years ago the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution was passed, which provided
"The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex."
This was during my grandmothers' lifetimes.   Imagine being born and not having the right to vote, to influence the way that the country you live in does business.

Nowadays there are a lot of ads out there that just besmirch the other guy.  Seth Godin says that all these ads do is to influence people to not vote.  Isn't that sad?   If enough people believe that their vote doesn't make a difference the course of history can be changed, and not in a good way.

Even if the choices aren't always stellar, the ability to cast a vote IS stellar.  We should not forget that our grandmothers and great-grandmothers had no vote. So.....

GO VOTE

Amen!!! I love my country and count it a privilege to vote and have my tiny voice heard.
