Anniversaries

This past week my husband and I celebrated 25 years together.  I remember feeling so grown-up when we got married and now I look at the pictures and I think what babies we were.  I am thankful for him, he is a great husband and wonderful father.

Also, this week I celebrate 5 years of doll making.   I began making dolls in 2006 and what an interesting learning curve it has been to study antique folk art and create new works inspired by them.   My early dolls were all cloth with marker and colored pencil faces.   I wish I had some of those early dolls back.  :-)

Best wishes to you, on both of your anniversaries. I've enjoyed a long marriage too, and my life has been so much more because of it. I think to be a dollmaker must require an understanding husband, and family, as those of us who love to create, can become lost within that world every now and then. 25 years in a happy marriage, is long, but if you are like me, you sometimes think that it has been a very short time too. A happy love can never last long enough.

A blessed anniversary Dixie to you and your husband. 25 years is worth a big celebration. May God bless you both as you continue to nurture one another and your children in His love and mercy.
