Artists Who Inspire :
Laurie Shuran Meseroll

Do you ever look at other people's work
and it makes you want to run
and squeeze a paint tube
and grab a paintbrush?

Laurie Shuran Meseroll's work
has always made me feel that way.
I love the sense of narrative in her work.

The image above and the image below
for me bring to mind the balancing act that artists must do
but also that women and mothers do.

I love the influence of folk art in her work.

You can find Laurie on Facebook
and her work sells at Earth Angels Toys.

Her work reminds me we all have something to say.

I like the one on the highwire. The shadows imply a spotlight above in the foreground. They remind me of how "watched" I feel when I'm trying to do everything right...

The question is, do I do this to myself, or is everyone really watching to see if I fall?

Hi, Jan - I think I do that to myself. Everyone else is usually too busy with their own high-wire act. ;-)
