This doll had a perfectly fine face but something about the eyebrows bothered me so I repainted her. When will I learn???? I decided that I would NOT let myself paint her face again until I made arms and legs for her. Right now she is thumbless, but I hope to change that today.

I "yay'ed" about this on facebook, but I'll YAY here too...YAY!!! Sometimes it's so hard to justify taking time away from The Official Work (why is that almost always work done for others?) in order to create.
My hubs is very supportive, and won't fuss if I don't make dinner or if he has to iron his own work slacks, but it's still hard. I can only imagine that's "hard x 3" when you add kids into that. But you DO have a job, and you're right: trying to multi-task it makes you LESS effective at both.
Mini Izzy is going to be fabulous.
I am kind of 'between' jobs at the moment, have two part time jobs and one of them is ending this month so I'll be down to one part time job. I know if I let things 'sit' at home while I'm creating, I will generally get a 'look' when my husband comes home. Nothing more than the 'look', but still...it's the 'look'. And I can understand that because my husband works 6 days and 3 nights a week, so if I have specks of free time during the day I need to take up the slack.
So I try to get as much 'work' done as soon as possible to then leave me blank chunks of time to 'create' so I don't feel guilty and reduce possibility of 'looks'.
Hahahhaha I hear you. I recently have stopped working and I have no idea where all the time goes at home. I constantly over estimate what I will get done in a day. Its super annoying. Love your Dolls xo
I am trying to let go of the "should also be doing" video stream that runs in my head and fully concentrate on what I am doing at the moment.
But aren't you working when you're making dolls that you ultimately sell? But I get it. Keeping the homefires tended makes for harmonious living.
I hear people say this all the time. And then you feel bad because you didn't accomplish what you'd hoped. But Jan told me once to make a list of all the other things I accomplished without really knowing I was doing it - like laundry, transporting kids, cooking, grocery shopping, etc. I think we do a lot without knowing we're doing it.
And then of course there's my online time suck. I don't really need to be reading The Twitter as much as I do ;-)
