Slowing Down for Summer

The kids are getting out of school. This summer I'm planning to enjoy my kids more, and not worry about getting a lot done. What will this mean? I'm not sure, but this post by Nester called, "How Many Summers Do Yours Have Left?" is thought-provoking.

Slowing down for summer???
Maybe not, if the picture above is a preview...
but in any case,
make way for SUMMER!

I know I'll be speeding up and slowing down at the same time! I'm leaving my job as nanny to two little gals I've raised for the last 6 years, their entire lives. In between jobs I'll focus more on dollmaking and museum work, which I'm grateful to have more time for, but I'll miss those little squirts so now I'll be spending my weekends kidnapping them for quality time. I guess really, I'm just switching my schedule around instead of slowing down! But at least I won't have to nag the girls anymore every day, and can play 'grandma' instead and just spoil em!

Yeah, maybe not slowing down as much as shifting focus. I can attest to the fact that when it comes to kids (my last chick flew the nest in '04) you can't go back and do anything over.

Enjoy your summer, but remember to make a little art, even if only to record the feelings of those good times.
