When I made my last pattern I got up to 24 variations on some of the parts. I'm hopeful this time around won't be quite as many, as I have a doll in house to compare to. I'm up to 6 tries to get the hand shape right. Now off to look at other Philadelphia Sheppard Babies at Pinterest and see what their hands look like. Then my next step is to find an appropriate knit that doesn't have too much stretch to try the pattern out on.
Sometimes I am plain weird.

That thumb on the old one sure is tiny!
I know, Jan. This is where I am going to check in on other Philly Babies to get a feel for whether this tiny thumb is specific to this doll or universal to Philly Babes. :-)
I love the picture...:) LOL
Dixie, I find buying a mans T shirt is a good fabric for dolls.
No. 6 looks good.judy j
Yes, I do, too, Judy. I need to find a good knit that doesn't have too much stretch. I'll offer for ease the pattern piece for woven fabrics and a pattern piece for knit fabrics for arms. I am not sure it is worth the extra pain to sew the limbs from knit. I can't figure out what the knit is on these old dolls. Nothing I see at the fabric stores now. ;-)
