What's Going On

Art-making has taken a back burner while one of my kids has been very ill with Lyme disease. I am sure that ticks have some beneficial reason for existence, but I haven't found one yet...all I can say is check yourself for ticks and remove them as quickly as you can. We never saw a tick - they can be as small as a period at the end of this sentence.

Conventional medicine says a tick needs to be attached for longer than 36 hours to infect a person. You can read about Lyme prevention HERE.  The world is a beautiful place, we have to be mindful that it has things we must pay attention to to stay healthy.

In between nursing him and school starting for another life has been very busy. I was able to make a final visit to Lucy's Doll House in Camden, Maine a couple weeks back. It is sad to see them close, but life brings changes, and we must adjust to the changes. I saw the folk art horse shown here.

The MAIDA Dolls Group is gearing up for the next folk art doll making theme, which is to make a Hitty.  I am SURE there will be some lovely offerings.

This summer I took a class on taking photos with my iPhone.  It truly is as good as the other digital camera I owned, and is usually in my pocket.  So there is that!

I was able to take a photo in a kayak this summer at sunset.  It was one of the gifts of this season.  I had the photo enlarged and matted and framed it.  This is not taken  my house, it is missing dog toys and snack crumbs on the floor.  ;-)

Lovely photo Dixie. Sorry to hear about the Lyme disease. I live in the Ozark boonies and we have ticks, lots of ticks......disgusting little creatures. I've known several people that have gotten Lyme disease. Lucky to have had it diagnosed. I understand that can be difficult. Take care.
