There Is Beauty In Every Day

I'm the kind of person whose friends are waiting to go in the restaurant while I take a picture of a lone red leaf on a gray asphalt sidewalk. Sometimes I take pictures of my friends' meals, and they patiently wait.  This was a turkey club sandwich with cranberry mayo at Vittles Restaurant in Pittsfield, Maine.

There is beauty in every day.

The correspondence of one person,
in neat rows in a box at an auction
makes my heart ache and swell at the same time.
They saved it all.
Oh the secrets contained
in a cardboard box
Tragedies and triumphs and celebrations...

There is beauty in every day.

In this box, I see the beloved friend(s) of some little girl now grown up.
Yes, I'm the kind of person who sees beauty in  limbless old dolls.
I'm Quirky and I'm OK with that.

This cash register brought back girlhood memories
of going to the corner store at the lake for penny candy.

There is beauty in every day.

A pie from the Apple Shed in Kent's Hill, Maine,
brought to my husband for his 50th birthday.

There is beauty in every day.

Dixie, I am going to look for beauty in my day today...the common everyday things I often take for granted. Thanks for this wonderful post. I enjoy your photography!

Thanks, Maureen. I'm not really a photographer, mostly a "documenter" of moments in my own life. But I like sharing what I can.
